WHAT happened in "The Fall Of The Roman Empire"?

It happened over a long period. Constant barbarian attacks, the Empire not being able to provide for the needs of its citizens, it eventually lost its unity and split into the Eastern and Western Roman Empires, both of which further split. The Eastern Empire lasted longer though, and became known as the Byzantine Empire.
