How To Fix A Scratched Disc?

Alright, I have this Wii game and I REALLY want to keep playing. However, the disc has many, but not deep scratched along the back and none are in the smaller circle in the middle. I really don't want to buy a new game, because I was extremely close the the end, but the disc won't play anymore. It used to just say that it could not be played, and after you ejected it a few times, it would start again. Now, it won't even start! Is there any way I can fix/repair the game or remove the scratches?
