How do you get hay/straw out of your cowboy boots?

Well my horse just had a foal and we used straw for bedding instead of shavings (cause its supposed to be better for the foal) and anyways I was cleaning out the stall and I got tons (and I mean tons) of straw and hay in my boots. I got most of it out but theres still some in there that I cant get out and its scratching my feet! Well I hope you guys can help!!! P.S. I hate straw!
