What do these readings and the largely non-violent surrender of power by european communists in most countries?

Secondly, examine the fall of European communism by looking at the 5 june 1989 discussions within the ruling communist party of poland (the PZPR) that led that party to accept the anticommunist solidarity movement’s coming to power to in the wake of the communists’ defeat in open elections, and 2009 refections of Mikhail Gorbachev on the resignations of communist regimes in europe in 1989-90. What do these readings and the largely non-violent surrender of power by european communists in most countries where they ruled indicate about the evolution of those societies by that time?
