PLEASE HELP!! World history help!?

My assignment is to act as a radio broadcast and say during the year 1943 something that was happening such as a foot ball game, or opera or something in that year...THEN all of a sudden i have to interrupt it saying a historical even that had "just" happened. the one i chose is "Allied forces take over Sicily and Mussolini resigns. The Fascist Party dissolves and Italy surrenders unconditionally." Those are the news i will interrupt the radio with but I DONT KNOW....which event am i suposed to be saying by radio...like what opera or football thing. I need HELP!! And it has to be TRUE though. PLEASE HELP!
